No class on Mother’s Day and Cecil College registration issues

First off, there will be no class this Sunday, May 8, due to Mother’s Day.  Classes will resume on Sunday, May 15.  In the interim, feel free to encourage friends and family to sign up.  Since we’ve had two weeks off, we’ll have a thorough review of what we did in the first class, so people can easily join this session without missing anything.

For those who tried to register for the Cecil College session and received a “class full” message…  There were caps on class sizes due to COVID social distancing restrictions.  Those caps should be removed by now, so please try again to sign up for the next session.

Argentine Tango dancers!  Take the Lead Dance Studio in Hockessin will be having Friday Night Milongas.  On Friday, May 20, from 9:30 to 1:00 AM, Abby and Andre will be hosting a Milonga for those Argentine Tango dancers looking for a venue to dance.  There will be a Milonga on the third Friday of the month, so go ahead and put June 17th on the calendar.  I have no info on cost at this time.  Feel free to contact the studio directly for more info at 302-234-0909.

Workshops!

Apologies for the late notice.

We are having two workshop classes.  The first is TONIGHT, April 3, from 7-8PM in Samba.

The second is next week, Sunday, April 10, from 7-8PM in Bolero.

The cost for each workshop is $5 per person.

We’ll be off on Sunday, the 17th, for Easter, and a new session of classes will start in Newark on April 24th, Tango and Swing, and will run for 6 weeks.

Hope to see you there!

Class Schedules and Saturday Social!

We had a bit of a scheduling malfunction at the church this week.  Delaware HHS was filming short public service announcements.  They were told no one else would be there, but…

Anyway, I told them that, if they could, tell people to take ballroom dance lessons to stay out of trouble.

I will eventually adjust the calendar, but we have TWO more weeks of the intermediate class in Newark, THREE more weeks of the beginner class in Newark, and today is the last class of the current session at Cecil College.

So, those of you taking classes at Cecil College, you might want to sign up sooner than later.  Especially if you want to take the Ballroom II class, which didn’t run this session because only one person had signed up by the day of the class.  The next session at Cecil College will start Monday the 28th and will cover Waltz and Cha Cha.

The next social at Take the Lead is this Saturday, March 197:30-10PM.  There is a cash bar which also includes water and sodas.  Cost is $15 per person.  Come on out and use what you’ve been taught in class, have fun, socialize with your classmates, and meet new people!

St. Patrick’s Day Saturday Social

Our next social will be Saturday, 3/19. We’re encouraging everyone to wear something green as we keep the St. Patrick’s Day celebration going on. Every lady will receive a small token from the studio. There will be a special 24 Karat Gold rose given away as well.

Spend your Saturday evening with us as we play a wide variety of music from Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango to Cha Cha, Swing, and Rumba. The night starts at 7:30 with dancing until 10pm.

We’re looking forward to seeing so many smiling faces on the dance floor as the mask mandate has been lifted in Delaware. April socials will be the first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month . .  4/2, 4/16 & 4/30

Socials give you a chance to practice everything you’ve been working on in your group and private lessons. It’s a great way to create new and cement old friendships.

Cash bar available.

$15 for the evening

Hope to see you there!

Take the Lead address: 320 Lantana Drive, Hockessin, DE, 19707
